Programs and Features

Programs and Features has similar functionality as Add or Remove programs in Windows XP. To open Programs and Features, use the following steps:

1. From the Windows Vista default Start menu, click Control Panel.

2. In the Control Panel window, click Uninstall a Program.

On the graphic, click the hyperlinks to move through the various screens.

• View installed updates
• Get new programs online at Windows Marketplace
• View purchased software (digital locker)
• Turn Windows features on or off

Troubleshoot Installing or Uninstalling Programs

• I installed a program but I do not see it listed under Programs and Features.
• Some programs that are included with Windows, such as games, do not show up under Programs and Features. How do I install or uninstall them?
• When trying to install a program from a CD, I insert the CD but nothing happens.
• I cannot install a program made for an earlier version of Windows.
• What does 'change a program' mean?
