Restore computer

Note: Windows Complete PC Backup and Restore is not included with Windows Vista Home Basic or Windows Vista Home Premium.

To restore the computer using a Complete PC Restore, follow these steps:

1. Boot to the Windows Vista backup media.

2. On the Install Windows screen, click Next.

3. On the Install Windows screen, select Repair your computer.

4. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Next.

5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, select the appropriate operating system, and then click Next. If controller drivers are needed, click Load Drivers.

6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click CompletePC Restore.

7. In the Windows Complete PC Restore dialog box, select the appropriate option, and then click Next.

8. In the Windows Complete PC Restore dialog box, click Finish.

9. In the Windows Complete PC Restore dialog box, click to select I confirm that I want to erase all existing data and restore the backup, and then click OK.

10. The files are restored.

11. Once the restore is complete, the computer restarts.
